Our Customer

Bolton based J Dickinson & Sons is amongst the first companies in the UK to trial the all-new HAAS TYRON 2500 2.0 twin-shaft slow-speed shredder.

J Dickinson & Sons are a commercial and domestic skip hire, recycling and waste removal company, that have been operating since 1939. Their 17-acre state of the art recycling facility based in Horwich is home to a full environmental licensed recycling facility, on-site transfer station as well as a shredding, crushing, and screening facility.

The Challenge

Dickinsons are dedicated to recycling and repurposing of as much of the waste they receive as possible. This is made possible, in part, by their shredding and screening facility.

As part of this facility, Dickinson’s run a mobile HAAS TRYON 2000XL 2.0 as their primary shredder, which feeds a static Kiverco plant that takes the material through a sequence of various screening, picking stations and air separation units. The resulting material is then finally screened through a CRJ supplied Doppstadt SM518 trommel screen, which removes the sub 100mm product.

The Solution

The HAAS TYRON 2000XL 2.0 is a market leading twin shaft slow-speed shredder, and is renowned across the recycling and waste management industries for its performance, versatility and ease of maintenance.

HAAS have developed a new generation of its ‘big brother’, the TYRON 2500 2.0. As Dickinson’s already had the 2000XL 2.0 on site, it was a great opportunity to see both the 2000XL 2.0 and 2500 2.0 running side by side.

The new 2500 benefits from all the new design aspects of the 2000XL 2.0 including the new shredding chamber design, which incorporates a more efficient infeed via a non-angled under rotor area.

A key benefit of the new generation TYRONs is the addition of foldable side panels, that allow direct ground access to the shredding chamber. Side access mitigates the risk of someone having to enter the shredding chamber for maintenance and hard facing, meaning less machine downtime.

HAAS has also improved access to the hydraulic and engine compartments of the machine, making it easier and safer to conduct maintenance and servicing.

Another benefit of the new generation machine is the hydraulically positioned overband magnet, making it safer and quicker for operators to adjust the height of the magnet over the outfeed belt, via the remote control.

CRJ Services Ltd is the sole distributor of HAAS machinery within the UK and Ireland. Offering both the hire and sale of the HAAS Tyron pre-shredder, backed up by their market leading service support and spare parts offering.
