Apprenticeships at CRJ Services

CRJ Services is committed to developing talent and offering young people and people looking to retrain the opportunity to learn skills and gain experience in their chosen field.
 

Our apprentices have the opportunity to work towards a qualification, whilst earning, and learn from the talented mentors we have at CRJ Services. Being able to learn in a hands-on environment allows apprentices to put their skills into practice and helps them to gain confidence in a working environment.
 

CRJ Services currently offers apprenticeships in Heavy Plant Mechanics and in Supply Chain Operations.

What is it like to be an apprentice at CRJ Services?
Apprentice Heavy Plant Mechanic
 

Our Heavy Plant Mechanic apprentices undertake a three-year apprenticeship where they work towards a Level 3 qualification in Land-Based Service Engineering Technician. As part of their course, they cover aspects such as:
 

  • Environmental, safe working and legal requirements
  • Use of specialist tools and equipment
  • Thermally and chemically joining metals and components
  • Advanced technical and engineering principles of land-based engineering machinery, plant and equipment
  • Service, maintenance and repair principles and practices for complex machinery, plant and equipment
  • Accessing, interpreting, and applying technical data
  • Diagnosing faults and verifying machinery

     
Warehouse Apprentice
 

Our Warehouse Apprentices undertake a 14-month apprenticeship where they work towards a Level 2 qualification in Supply Chain Warehouse Operations. As part of their training, they will obtain skills such as:
 

  • Operate and handle equipment safely and efficiently
  • Comply with appropriate rules, regulations and processes
  • Safely and efficiently load and unload items
  • Select, prepare and use packaging materials appropriately
  • Use correct equipment and procedures to record receiving or stowing goods
  • Work effectively under pressure and to agreed deadlines
  • Use IT applications and other relevant technology and systems
