The CRJ Story

CRJ was incorporated in 1999, when the three directors saw an opportunity to diversify from their farming operations into organics recycling for local authorities in Cheshire. Following a successful period of green waste processing for local authorities, CRJ Services grew further as we began to hire out our existing shredders and screeners.

Over the next 20 years, the hire fleet of machinery expanded with the addition of slow and high-speed shredders, trommel screens, deck disc screeners, air separation and metal separation equipment, washing systems and picking stations.

In 2014, Matpro Machinery was incorporated and gained the dealership contract for HAAS Recycling-Systems, and other renowned OEM brands in Scotland and the North of England.

Matpro and CRJ’s relationship was established as CRJ purchased several HAAS TYRON shredders to complement their existing hire fleet.

Due to CRJ’s expert engineering team, and their experience with the HAAS equipment it was decided that Matpro and CRJ Services would partner up, with CRJ providing the support and servicing for the HAAS machinery sold by Matpro.

This enabled Matpro Machinery to become the full UK and Ireland distributor for HAAS. This progression was followed by Matpro taking on other dealerships for other renowned European OEM’s to build a complementary portfolio of recycling and material processing machinery.

In 2019, the decision was taken to integrate the CRJ and Matpro brands into a single entity. As part of this integration, the Matpro business stream became CRJ Sales, which sits alongside CRJ Hire, CRJ Parts and CRJ Support.

CRJ have built a wealth of knowledge of material processing and recycling processes and the best equipment used to do so. This knowledge runs throughout the company, from the sales team, to the hire desk to our team of expert engineers. This allows CRJ to offer the best service and advice to their customers, so their operations run effectively and efficiently, whilst producing top quality output.
